Rahman Azari

Rahman Azari is an architect, educator, and researcher in the field of Sustainable Built Environments. Dr. Azari has taught as an Assistant professor at Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Texas-San Antonio. Dr. Azari’s research focuses on the development of innovative materials with energy generation and carbon sequestration capabilities, multi-dimensional assessment of life cycle impacts of built environments, and data-driven urban environmental modeling. A two-time recipient of the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) Upjohn Research Grant (2018, 2019), Dr. Azari was recognized as a "Researcher to Know" by the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition in 2019. Dr. Azari's teaching has led to multiple student projects winning major competitions such as AIA COTE Top Ten and SARA Excellence in Design.
